Eligibility
Domestic Diploma scholarships are applicable to Diploma students whose program commences in May or September 2025 and who are:
- Australian citizens
- Australian permanent or temporary visa holders
- New Zealand passport holders
- Holders of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
International students, Gateway Admission Pathway students, those holding a Commonwealth Support Place (CSP), repeat students, and sponsored students are not eligible for the Domestic Diploma Scholarships.
Selection criteria
To apply for a Domestic Diploma Scholarship at UNSW College, students must:
- Already hold an offer for a Diploma
- Submit a 500-word personal statement outlining their motivation for studying the UNSW College Diploma and their chosen UNSW degree.
Scholarship recipients for each round will be ranked. The top ranked student will receive the highest value scholarship, though students from regional or rural areas who have applied for a Diploma with their home address recorded as RRMA zones 3-7 will be given preference.
- The Domestic Student Recruitment Manager will consider all applications and recommend the best five applications for the round to the Head of Student Recruitment.
- They will agree on the first, second, third, fourth and fifth place holders.
Scholarship conditions
- The Domestic Diploma Scholarship takes the form of a tuition fee waiver.
- Domestic Diploma Scholarships are applied to the second and third term fees for full-time students or apportioned according to study load for part-time students from their second term onwards.
- Domestic Diploma Scholarships cannot be combined with other scholarships; nor can they be deferred to later intakes or transferred to other students.
- Should students take a leave of absence, or fail any courses, their scholarship may be terminated.
- Should a student’s enrolment in the Diploma cease for any reason, their scholarship will be terminated.
- Successful UNSW College graduates may qualify for other scholarships at UNSW Sydney.

To be considered for the May 2025 intake, personal statements must be submitted by 1 May 2025.
To be considered for the September 2025 intake, personal statements must be submitted by 21 August 2025.

Scholarship recipients will be decided and awarded in writing by email within 7 days of the submission deadline.

Recipients will be given another 7 days to accept their scholarship offer in writing by email. Should recipients fail to respond then the scholarship offer will be forfeited and the scholarship may be offered to another student.
