College Board

The Board of Directors is the governing body of UNSW College.

College Board

Subject to the Constitution, the College Board is accountable to and must act in the best interests of its shareholder, UNSW, for the performance and management of the Company.

The responsibility for day-to-day operations and management of the Company and implementation of its strategy and objectives is delegated by the Board to the CEO.

The Board Charter documents the functions and authority of the Board (and the individual Directors) related to the direction, management, and control of the Company.

UNSW College Board Membership

The College Board is the formally constituted governing body of UNSW College.

As a Higher Education Provider (HEP), the College has independent ‘external’ Directors who are not staff members of either the College or the University or a member of the UNSW Council. 

The current Board membership includes two external (or independent) Directors, and five internal Directors, who are UNSW staff members, all of whom are Australian residents. The College Board and its committees are part of UNSW College's current governance structure.  Membership of the College Board is subject to the approval of the UNSW Council.

Register of Delegations

The Register of Delegations sets out the majority of the functions which the Board of Directors has authorised particular officers and bodies of UNSW College to carry out regularly, including delegations for the establishment of Policy, Procedures, and Guidelines, and financial, personnel, academic and other administrative and general authorities and functions.

The latest Register of Delegations was approved by the College Board on 20 October 2023.

College Board Meeting Dates

In accordance with the Board Charter, The College Board meets at least six times per year. Additional meetings may be called at the request of the Chair.

College Board Standing Committees

The standing committees of the College Board include the Compliance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and Academic Board.

From 13 January 2025, UNSW College™ will commence delivery of Foundation Studies under its own CRICOS Provider Code - 01020K and TEQSA Provider ID: PRV13020 (Institute of Higher Education).

UNSW College™ delivers the Pre-Masters Program and Academic English programs under CRICOS Provider Code 01020K and TEQSA Provider ID: PRV13020 (Institute of Higher Education).
