What is Online University English Entry Course 10 (OUEEC10)?
The Online University English Entry Course 10 (OUEEC10) is designed for international students who aim to progress to an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework or research) degree at UNSW Sydney but do not meet UNSW’s English entry requirements. This 10-week program allows you to study from anywhere in the world and gain the skills and confidence to succeed at UNSW. If you successfully pass OUEEC10, you do not need to sit any other English tests.

If you've received a conditional offer from UNSW Sydney but did not meet the English entry requirements, this program is for you. Overview
OUEEC10 includes 20 hours of weekly class time plus about 10 hours of self-study. You’ll be expected to keep your camera on in online lessons to connect with peers, build communication skills, and receive personalised feedback, ensuring an engaging and motivating experience comparable to studying in person.
OUEEC10 will equip you to succeed in real-world student settings. Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll have the practical tools you need to get the most out of every lecture, assignment and assessment.
These skills include:
- Applying academic rules and principles to uphold integrity in spoken and written tasks and exams
- Conducting basic academic research by locating, evaluating, and integrating reliable sources to support your ideas
- Interpreting university-level reading and listening texts critically across a range of topics
- Writing short and extended academic responses that integrate ideas from reading and listening sources
- Communicating ideas persuasively and confidently in academic group discussions
- Collaborating effectively in online platforms to plan and produce group tasks
- Developing independent learning strategies and reflection skills for ongoing success
You will have regular check-ins with our experienced and supportive UNSW College teachers. Their knowledge of course material and university requirements will help prepare you for your future at UNSW.
Entry requirements
The Online University English Entry Course 10 is designed for international students who have received a conditional offer from UNSW Sydney. This program is only available to students based outside Australia.
You will be placed in an appropriate class based on a test score under the following conditions:
- IELTS, TOEFL and PTE tests must have been taken within 24 months of the enrolment date.
- If you have variations in test subscores from the entry requirements for UEEC (10 weeks), it could mean you are not eligible for Online UEEC (10 weeks). You could be eligible for additional weeks of English (UEEC15 or UEEC20) in person at the next available intake.
- UNSW College reserves the right to require you to undertake our placement test to confirm appropriate course placement.
- UNSW College reserves the right to make changes to this course placement guide without notice.
- UNSW College also accepts Cambridge Advanced English (CAE).
