Have you received a conditional offer from UNSW Sydney, but do not meet the UNSW English entry requirements? Our University English Entry Course (UEEC) will help you improve your English skills before starting your UNSW Diploma Program or an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at UNSW Sydney. In 20 weeks or less, this advanced course will equip you with the English skills you need to start your learning journey. If you pass the UEEC, you do not need to sit any other English tests.
With 15- and 20-week courses available, you have the flexibility to study in a way that suits you best.

Our University English Entry Course (UEEC) has been designed specifically for international students who have received a conditional offer from UNSW Sydney but don’t yet meet the UNSW English entry requirements.
The program provides the support you need to achieve your English goals so you can start your UNSW Diploma Program or degree. You’ll improve your writing, speaking and digital skills, develop independent learning skills and receive individual feedback. When you’ve successfully completed the course, you’ll progress straight into your UNSW Diploma Program or degree.
Choose from a 15- or 20-week program with multiple intake dates for each duration and pathway, you can find an option that fits your schedule.
The UEEC is specially built to prepare you to succeed in the Diploma Program or degree of your choice. You’ll learn content based on UNSW lectures and readings, giving you a preview of what’s to come after you finish your course.
You can package your UEEC and UNSW degree under one visa, which means fewer steps before you start your learning journey.

Once you successfully complete your University English Entry Course, you will progress to a UNSW Diploma Program, or to UNSW Sydney to complete the bachelor’s degree or master’s degree of your choice.

The UEEC builds English skills that will help you succeed in real-world student settings. Upon successful completion of the University English course, you’ll have the practical tools you need to get the most out of every lecture, assignment and assessment.
These skills include:
During the course you’ll listen to real lectures, discussions and media reports; practise giving academic presentations; read university-level texts; write essays, case study analyses and reports, and learn about independent learning strategies that fit you and your learning pathway.
You’ll learn from experienced UNSW teachers who will help prepare you for the academic journey ahead. Their knowledge of course material and university course structure will help prepare you for your future at UNSW.
The University English Program is designed for international students who have received a conditional offer from UNSW Sydney. The duration of the UEEC that works best for you is determined by your current English and academic levels.
You will be placed in an appropriate class based on a test score under the following conditions:
The academic calendar consists of important dates throughout your study period such as Orientation, census dates, study weeks, exam weeks and breaks for your program or course of study.

Depending on your level of English, you may need to study an Academic English Program. This may consist of between 10 and 30 weeks of additional English language tuition in our University English Entry Course and Essential Academic English Course.
Orientation dates for Academic English Programs are on the first day of classes. You will receive information about Orientation a few weeks prior to your start date. Census dates for Academic English Programs are 1 week after the first day of classes.
