What you’ll study in the Bachelor of Applied Business (Business Management)

Year 1 (Diploma)

In year 1, you'll build a strong foundation in how businesses operate and how people succeed within them. You will study core areas in management, accounting, marketing, communication and economics, while also learning how to think critically and make informed business decisions. It is a practical introduction that helps you understand the day-to-day side of business. 

Year 2 (Associate degree)

In year 2, your focus shifts towards applying your skills in more complex business environments. You will explore key areas such as business analysis, people performance, digital strategy, and negotiations, while strengthening your ability to use data and financial information. This stage helps you move from understanding business fundamentals to thinking more strategically and working through real business challenges. You will also have the option to complete an industry placement in year 2.

Year 3 (Bachelor’s degree)

In year 3, you'll build advanced skills that can help you move into management, strategy, and leadership-focused roles. You will learn how to lead change, manage risk, support people, run projects, and solve complex business problems. In year 3, you will also complete a capstone project, and an industry placement if you did not complete it in year 2.

Leading change

This course explores how leaders help organisations adapt in times of change.

You will attend two weeknight classes at the Kensington campus in three-hour blocks, with the rest completed through online self-paced learning.
